WINTER 2007 MIX: Lullabies

to sleep: perchance to dream: ay, there's the rub...

since your infant days, when mommy or daddy sang you to sleep, music has been associated with the inevitable drifting off into the blissful dream state. to continue that tradition, you are invited to create a lullaby mix.

do you fall sleep to classical guitar, jazz vocalistas, ethno-trance, or Zamfir, master of the pan-flute? prefer dark astral-projection-inducing ambient tracks? sing yourself to sleep?

or, are you a 'sleep-is-for-wimps' insomniac? then arrange a mix that will bring nightmares to the uninitiated.

go ahead, dim the lights, lower the volume, and mix your wakefulness away...

Ie M-I-X. There's nothing better to promote this circulation of good music than to provide a means to trade it -- I can only imagine the thousands of songs, new and old, that I've never heard or have heard but haven't thought to appreciate... that one of YOU can introduce to me and to each other. Voila, MIXIES is born!
H O W i t W O R K S :
 

Very simple. You sign up. Each month, you make ONE mix and send TWO copies of that mix to me. In return, you receive TWO different mixes (one each from two different people.)

Send THREE copies to get a copy of my month's mix too. THREE mixes!

Sign up each month before the deadline:
The deadline to sign up for the trade is WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 27, 2006.

Then make your mix! and make sure that I receive it by the deadline:
For WINTER, I must receive your mix by THURSDAY, JANUARY 18, 2007.

When you sign up, I'll give you the address to which you should send your package.

SHIPPING! Along with your CDs, you must send along enough money to cover the shipping of your two new mixes. You can figure that however much it costs for you to ship to me, it'll cost me to ship back to you. You can send a check, but cash is preferable -- since it won't be more than a few dollars. You can also send it via PAYPAL but they take a commission so add a little more if you do (click below.)

 Regarding the mixes: please send them in a hard case, the slim kind if possible. At minimum, your mix should include a track listing and your name or email address should be on the CDs somewhere. But I encourage you to be creative, design your CDs/CD covers and add liner notes.
